Getting There
For our guests traveling from abroad, here are some tips to help you plan your journey.

Poland entry requirements for guests from the UK
1.Passport validity:
Ensure your passport is valid for at least three months beyond your intended departure date from the Schengen Area. To accommodate unforeseen circumstances, the UK government recommends having six months of validity remaining on your passport. Additionally, your passport must have been issued within the previous 10 years.
2. ETIAS Travel Authorization:
The European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) is expected to be operational by mid-2025. British travellers will need to obtain an ETIAS authorization before visiting EU countries for short stays (up to 90 days within any 180-day period). More information available here.
Getting to Poland
Direct flights to Warsaw from Manchester and Liverpool are available with Wizzair, Ryanair and LOT Polish Airlines. The flight takes approximately 2.5 hours.

We recommend flying into Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) as it is the most convenient option, with easy access to the city center. If you don’t find a flight to Warsaw Chopin don't worry! Warsaw Modlin Airport (WMI) is an alternative. Modlin is located about 40 km (25 miles) from Warsaw. While it’s farther out, it’s still a good option if the flight times or prices suit you better.
We’ve gathered the best options currently available for those traveling from the North-West of England. While we’ve previously used Birmingham and Leeds airports as well, they’re less convenient but could be considered as alternatives if needed.

How to get from airports to the city center
Once you arrive at one of the Warsaw airports (yay!), here’s how you can get to the city centre.

From Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW):
Chopin Airport is conveniently located just 20–30 minutes from Warsaw's city center and is well-connected with multiple transportation options. You can easily reach the city via public transportation, services like Uber and Bolt, or a taxi. Official taxi ranks as well Uber and Bolt ranks are located just outside the terminal, with a line of cars ready to pick up passengers. If you choose a taxi, to ensure a reliable service, opt for one of the three licensed taxi companies: iTaxi, MPT, or Ele Taxi—all of which use a metered fare system for transparency.
In our opinion it's best to choose Bolt or alliteratively train if you prefer public transportation. On this website you will find a step-by-step guide, illustrated with real airport photos, on where to find a taxi rank or how to get from Arrivals to the train station, buy a ticket in a machine and validate it once you're on the train.
If driving on the right-hand side of the road doesn't put you off, car rental services are also available at the airport.

From Warsaw Modlin Airport (WMI):
Modlin is about 40 km (25 miles) from Warsaw. The best transport options to the city are:
-
Uber / Bolt / Free now apps (the price is about 25 GBP)
-
Shuttle Bus: There is a non-stop shuttle bus service to Warsaw Centre, typically taking around one hour. Tickets are available online, at the airport, or from the bus driver. You can book Flixbus tickets via Trainline.
-
Car rental: Modlin Airport hosts several car rental agencies, making it easy to pick up a vehicle upon arrival.
Train from Modlin is the most time consuming and complicated choice so we advice against it.
Transport from city center to the wedding venue
We’ve chosen a venue tucked away in the countryside. The upside? We absolutely love it, and it’s the perfect place to dance like nobody’s watching! The downside? It’s a bit tricky to reach. But don’t worry—we’ve got you covered!

To make things easier, we’ll arrange a bus from Warsaw city center to the venue on the day of the wedding, as well as a return bus from the venue to Warsaw the following day. To help us plan, please let us know in your RSVP if you’d like to use this option.

Once we know how many party-goers will be joining the bus, we’ll finalize the details and share all the information here, including timings and a map.
